See this video?  I can do this in half the time…. easily.  Two things.  One I do have to be sitting down to do it.  However, I’ll do it with one hand.  In fact, I’ll do both guys (boy that sounds bad) with one of them sitting on my right and one on my left.

April 1, 2011 – 6pm – 1am – Spearmint Rhino

Spearmint Rhino is (as of the time of this writing) the best Strip Club in Las Vegas.  Any club can have liquor, that’s the easy part.

The next easy part is a good looking club and Spearmint is a good looking club.  Nice decor and big while not feeling cavernous (looking at you Sapphires and Rick’s).

Not the hardest part, but getting more difficult is the VIP room.  You can’t have every idiot in your VIP room but you should have a VIP bar so that if you don’t feel like yelling and screaming at each other (because the music is too loud or a bachelor party from Kansas is in town) you have some place to hang.  Spearmint does their VIP bar pretty well.  It’s a very good size, although on occasion it does get a little bit too crowded.  The only thing in their VIP room I’d change is, I’d probably make the VIP seats a little more private but that’s me.  And, if you’re willing to “buy a bottle” (a Vegas club, of any kind, tendency that I absolutely hate) I’m sure there are more private areas you can get into.

So, the hardest part? That’s the girls.  Can’t have a great Strip Club without great looking girls and Spearmint is the best in town right now bar none.  Yes, other clubs have gorgeous girls but not as many as they do at Spearmint.  I continually complain about Playboy magazine these days and that’s because I can find much hotter women working at Spearmint then I can in Playboy.  Not even a question.

So, we got to the club at 6pm.  This was the night before the Final Four and I was celebrating my team being in the tournament.  There were five of us there and we were hanging out having a pretty good time.  The manager at the time (Jason) was a friend of mine and he stopped by and bought the table a round of drinks.  (Thanks again!)

Now to the women, sometimes you can go to Spearmint during the day, especially on a Friday and get some high quality looking girls.  Well, in my opinion, it wasn’t that way this day but I get harder to please in my old age.  (Yes, I realize I was just talking about the fact they always have gorgeous girls here.  Well they do, just not always on a Friday at 6:30pm.)  My friends more or less found someone to talk with which was fine by me.  I really don’t hang out with guys often so that was really the point of the evening for me.

Most of my friends bailed around 7p or so but one of my friends and I hung out until the VIP room opened around 9p.  So, we moved our party back there and, I ran into a couple of more friends of mine.  I have a waitress friend of mine (Nikki) that I’ve known for years and we caught up with each other.  Then I ran into a dancer friend of mine (Foster) and we caught up with each other as well.

So, I was about to take off when another manager friend of mine (John) dropped by and introduced me to a new girl.  I want to say her name was Melissa but that seems like an odd name for a stage name (and I’m really bad with names).  Anyway we hung out for a bit as well.  After talking to her for a while, we did an hour in the VIP and we had a good time.

Really, when you go to Spearmint, the night really doesn’t sound that interesting (unless you start talking about details that I’m just not going to talk about)  You have a few drinks, talk to some people and if you’re lucky you find a gorgeous girl to get some dances from.

As far as prices are concerned… well, if you’re going to a strip club expect to pay or else don’t go.  I haven’t paid a door fee at a strip club in years but that’s only because I know practically everyone.  I’m not sure if just because you’re a local they let people in for free or not.  Drink prices will vary depending on where you buy your drink (VIP bar is more expensive).

Sorry about that…

Annnnndddd… we’re back.

Sorry about the long hiatus but well, I just haven’t been going out lately.  But I did this past weekend so I have some new posts coming in the next few days.  Going to try to get back to going out more.  Especially as summer hits.

Feb 12, 2011 – 10pm – 2am – Sedona

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Sedona over the years.  And I think it’s more about the area that the bar is located VS anything else.

When it first opened, it was a fairly high end restaurant/bar but so was the area.  Then when the recession hit, the area took a hit and it went downhill.  But, it appears as though it’s coming back a bit.

The clientele was pretty mixed.  Around 12am you could tell people getting off their shift were coming in to relax.  Mostly couples, not a lot of singles were around.  But that’s not really that unusual for the west side of Las Vegas.

As I mentioned, it’s a restaurant and a bar.  I’ve had their food previously (not this time) and never been overly impressed.  The bar also has your typical video poker machines which I don’t normally play.  In fact, we didn’t sit at the main bar, we sat at tables behind it.  But the video poker is there if you are so inclined.

I’m not an unusual drinker.  I stick pretty much to my Patron and nothing else so I can’t comment on the drinks.  My companion had tea which she enjoyed.

If you’re on date, on the west side of town, Sedona is a pretty good place to go.

Feb 12, 2011 – 8pm – 10pm – Lindo Michoacan

I arrived at Lindo’s (I call it Lindo’s because I can never pronounce that last name) around 8pm before my companion arrived.

I started off by having a Strawberry Margarita and chips while I waited.  I screwed up and didn’t ask for Patron in my Margarita.  My fault, not theirs.  Probably because I was too focused on making sure I requested the Habanero sauce for my chips.  They don’t normally bring this out unless you request it so if you like spicy sauce request it!  They did bring the normal bean dip and sauce.  Again, I forgot to order Patron in my Margarita so it was only so-so.

My companion arrived about 20 minutes after I did.  We talked for a while and then ordered.  I’m very bad at paying attention to what other people order for the most part so I won’t comment on her meal.  I did, however, to remember to get Patron in her Margarita when she ordered.  For dinner, I had the #7 Apatzingan which is basically two chicken enchiladas with beans and rice.  In addition, as an appetizer, they bring the most wonderful Fideo Soup.

In some Mexican restaurants, they take forever to bring the meal; this has never been a problem at Lindo’s.  It arrived very fast.  I’ve had the enchiladas at a couple of different Lindo’s (there are three of them in town) but on this night they were a little dry.  Not horrible but a little dry.  The beans and rice were good though.

At certain points during the evening they have a live singer playing Mexican music. I don’t know why restaurants do this, but all of the Lindo’s do. The good news is he’s stationary.(I’ve been places where they walk around and that’s just irritating.) Anyway, he’s not too annoying.  However, make sure you are far enough away from him that he doesn’t drown out your conversation.

Overall, a good meal.  The service was OK, but it’s never great in Mexican restaurants, because for the most part they don’t speak a word of English.  But that’s fine.  I don’t go there for the service.

I like Lindo’s and consider it to be one of the two best Mexican restaurants in town.  I’m quite sure I’ll go again.
